Thank you for using PromptPane! We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with your use of the PromptPane macOS application (the "App").

1. Information We Do Not Collect

We want to be clear upfront: PromptPane is designed with your privacy in mind and operates primarily offline. As such, we do not intentionally collect or transmit the following types of information from you or your device:

• Personal Identifiable Information (PII): We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, location data, IP address, or any other information that directly identifies you in the course of your normal use of the App.
• User Content: The text snippets, prompts, code snippets, notes, and page titles that you create and store within PromptPane ("User Content") are stored locally on your macOS device only. We do not access, transmit, or store your User Content on our servers or any third-party servers.
• Usage Data or Analytics: We do not use any third-party analytics services or collect data on how you use the App, such as features used, frequency of use, or session duration.

2. Information We May Process (Limited and Local)

In order to provide core functionality and a seamless user experience, PromptPane may process the following limited types of information locally on your device:

• App Settings and Preferences: Your preferences regarding the App's appearance (light/dark mode), display mode (list/grid), item size, hotkey settings, and other customization options are stored locally on your device. This is necessary to maintain your personalized App experience across sessions. This data is stored using macOS UserDefaults.
• License Status: If you purchase the full version of PromptPane through in-app purchase, your license status (e.g., whether you have purchased the full version or are using a trial) is managed locally. This information is used to unlock features and manage trial periods. In-app purchase transactions are processed and managed by Apple's App Store, and we do not directly collect your payment information.

3. Purpose of Local Data Processing

The limited data processed locally within PromptPane is solely for the following purposes:

• Providing Core Functionality: To enable the App's primary features, such as creating, managing, and pasting text snippets, organizing pages, and customizing the user interface.
• Maintaining User Preferences: To remember your settings and provide a consistent and personalized user experience each time you use the App.
• License Management: To verify your license status and enable access to purchased features.

4. Data Sharing

We do not share any of your User Content or personal information with any third parties because we do not collect it in the first place.

• In-App Purchases: Please note that in-app purchase transactions are handled entirely by Apple's App Store. We do not receive or store your payment information. For details on how Apple handles your purchase data, please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy.

5. Data Security

Your User Content and settings are stored locally on your macOS device. We implement reasonable measures to protect the App itself, but the security of your device and the data stored on it is ultimately your responsibility. We encourage you to use strong passwords for your macOS user account and keep your system software updated.

6. Data Retention

• User Content: Your User Content remains on your device until you explicitly delete it within the App. We have no access to or control over your User Content.
• App Settings and License Status: App settings and license information are stored locally and are retained indefinitely to preserve your preferences across App updates and re-installations, unless you manually reset the App or your macOS system.

7. Your Rights

Because PromptPane operates primarily offline and we do not collect your personal data, your rights regarding data access, modification, or deletion are primarily managed by you directly on your macOS device:

• Access and Modify User Content: You have full access to view, edit, and modify your User Content within the App.
• Delete User Content: You can delete individual Copy Items or entire Pages within the App, which permanently removes the data from your device.
• Control App Settings: You can modify your App settings at any time through the App's settings panel.

8. Children's Privacy

PromptPane is a general-purpose productivity application and is not specifically directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App or on our website. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
